Fashion ecommerce agency
People type “fashion ecommerce agency” when the store looks like fashion and the number does not. Paid is up. Conversion is 1–2%. A drop is late. Someone in the meeting says they need an agency that “gets fashion.”
That search is real. It is also loose. The word agency can mean media, a theme rebuild, a retainer that produces decks, or a partner who will sit on contribution and change the system that produces it. The category adjective does not tell you which.
This piece is not a second ecommerce consultant vs agency vs fractional page. That one compares hire models by who owns the P&L. It is not a second Shopify consultant page. That one stays on the Shopify-shaped search. This one stays on the fashion-shaped hire leftover. What the brief usually collapses. What you still have to find on your orders.
Beauty belongs in the examples. The stem is fashion because that is what people type.

What the brief usually collapses
Most fashion briefs put three jobs in one RFP.
Media. Meta, Google, a bit of TikTok, a lookbook that can be cut into ads. Useful when the leak is spend quality or creative that does not match the drop. Incomplete when the leak is the first SKU, size returns, or a markdown clock you already missed.
Storefront and the drop. Theme, lookbook, collection story, a PDP that can show fabric and size. Necessary when the site cannot carry the range. Incomplete when traffic mix or unit economics is the constraint.
Commercial delivery. Someone who names one number, investigates why it is stuck, designs a route around the stack you already have, and builds or briefs the change. Then they measure whether it moved.
Ask what they will still be in the room for after the launch film. If the answer is a media account and a monthly report, you hired media. If the answer is a new theme and a lookbook, you hired storefront. If the answer is a named objective, a change in the offer or the join between systems, and a measured effect, you are closer to a partner who can sit on contribution.
TwoKai sits in that last shape. Growth engineering for fashion and beauty ecommerce. Start with the outcome. Engineer the route. Not a media agency, not a theme shop, not a directory listing.
Fashion makes the split louder
Fashion paid is often a bet on a first order against inventory with a markdown clock. An agency can look successful on launch-week ROAS and still leave you clearing size 14 at 30% off. Unit economics is the page for that arithmetic.
Fashion conversion is often 1–2% because the session was cold, the size was a guess, or the drop trained people to wait. An agency that only owns creative will treat that as a brand problem. Sometimes it is mix. How to improve ecommerce conversion rate is the order of look.
Beauty in the same holding company is a different clock. A serum can replenish. A jacket cannot. An agency that reports one blended ROAS across both will hide the jacket.
| Shape | Usually owns | Hands back |
|---|---|---|
| Media | Spend, creative, platform ROAS | Site conversion, returns, markdown, second order |
| Storefront | Theme, lookbook, PDP, drop story | Traffic mix, payback, the ads account |
| P&L owner | One commercial objective and the route to it | The work they did not take |
If the constraint is mix, creative, or unit economics, the hire changes. The category word does not.
How to brief the hire
Keep the brief short enough that a partner cannot hide in it.
- Name the number that is stuck. Contribution, payback, or a first-product repeat. Not “grow the brand.”
- Name the first products in the argument. A core tailoring drop and a hero moisturiser are not one account.
- Say which job you already have in the building. Media, theme, in-house buyer. Hire the missing shape.
- Ask what they will measure on your orders in week six, after the launch content is spent.
If they answer with a channel plan and no join to returns or markdown, you are buying media. That can be the right buy. Call it that.
TwoKai starts with the outcome. Then we engineer the route around the stack you already run.
What's missing
This article can tell you what a fashion ecommerce agency brief usually collapses, and how to separate media, storefront, and a P&L owner. It cannot tell you which of those is the constraint on your drop, or whether your leak is spend, the site, or unit economics. That call is the investigation.
